Job Description
Red Canary is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and improve software solutions that help detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, security-focused development, and problem-solving, with an interest in building reliable systems that protect organizations from evolving cyber threats.
In this role, you will collaborate with software engineers, security researchers, and threat detection specialists to develop security tools, improve data processing capabilities, and strengthen the reliability of security-focused applications. You will contribute to the software development lifecycle while helping deliver scalable solutions for identifying suspicious activity and supporting incident investigations.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain security-focused software applications. Build backend services, APIs, and data-processing components for cybersecurity systems. Develop reliable software for collecting, processing, and analyzing security-related data. Collaborate with security researchers and detection engineers to improve threat detection capabilities. Identify and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues. Implement secure coding practices and support application security reviews. Write automated tests and participate in code reviews. Improve system scalability, availability, and operational performance. Maintain technical documentation and follow established engineering standards. Investigate technical issues and contribute to continuous product improvements.
Requirements
Experience in software engineering, application development, or a related technical field. Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
