The Visual Investigations team is looking for a digital sleuth with an innate curiosity and a journalistic urge to dig deeper. As a fellow, you will work with open-source reporters and video producers to break investigative stories and produce authoritative visual analysis on the biggest news of the day. You are proficient at doing digital research, mining social media and using the web to connect dots that reveal a bigger story. You can compile and assess visual content from satellite imagery, eyewitness videos and airplane- and ship-tracking platforms. You can also locate and verify user-generated content and be familiar with open-source reporting techniques. You will drive story ideas, be able to work autonomously and exercise sound news judgment. This is an in-office position and includes regular attendance in the office four days each week. There may be some flexibility to work remotely per your departmental guidance. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
