Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to take ownership of the development, maintenance, and operational excellence of backend microservices. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, Apache Kafka, MySQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.
The candidate will be responsible for understanding and documenting existing business logic, developing scalable REST APIs, integrating with internal and external systems, managing Kubernetes deployments, and ensuring the reliability and performance of production services.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of 2–3 assigned PTCS microservices, including controllers, notification services, schedulers, and exporters. Understand, document, maintain, and improve existing business logic across the PTCS microservices portfolio. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs. Implement Kafka producers and consumers for push notification and email notification pipelines. Integrate microservices with external systems, including BSS, ASM, ATG, JID/RID, Firebase/FCM, email systems, and HashiCorp Vault. Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following coding standards and architectural guidelines. Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members. Write and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests. Maintain and improve Helm charts and Kubernetes deployment configurations. Support L3/L4 production incident escalations and troubleshoot complex backend issues. Contribute to technical documentation, test strategies, test cases, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
