A Day in the Life
The Senior Scrum Master is an independent contributor responsible for enabling effective Agile delivery by facilitating Scrum practices, supporting team execution, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. This role partners closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to drive predictable outcomes, manage risks and dependencies, and foster continuous improvement. The Senior Scrum Master operates with ownership of defined workstreams, promotes Agile maturity, and ensures consistent application of OST delivery standards to achieve high-quality results.
Manages one or more Scrum team independently, ensuring effective execution of assignedworkstreams. Facilitates Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, andretrospectives. Partners with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, prioritization, and readiness forsprint execution. Identifies, tracks, and proactively mitigates risks, dependencies, and impediments impactingdelivery. Ensures alignment of team activities with OST delivery standards, governance, and organizationalpriorities. Monitors team performance using Agile metrics and supports data-driven decision making. Collaborates regularly with stakeholders to clarify needs, communicate progress, and ensurealignment. Maintains delivery artifacts and documentation to ensure transparency and auditability of work. Drives continuous improvement through retrospectives, feedback loops, and processenhancements. Supports consistent application of Agile methodologies, tools, and templates across deliveryteams. Contributes to problem solving by applying experience to resolve defined and emerging deliverychallenges.
