Job Overview
Synacor is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of scalable software applications and cloud-based services. The ideal candidate will have strong programming fundamentals, experience developing reliable software systems, and an interest in building secure digital experiences for users and enterprise customers.
In this role, the Software Engineer will collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to develop new features, improve existing applications, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain high standards for software quality, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services. Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code. Develop backend services, application programming interfaces, and software components. Contribute to web applications and systems supporting identity management, authentication, email, and collaboration services. Participate in technical planning, software design discussions, and code reviews. Diagnose software defects, investigate production issues, and implement effective solutions. Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security. Work with databases, external services, and distributed application components. Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests. Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver software features. Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards. Support continuous integration, deployment, and ongoing software maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience in software development or application engineering. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Go, or C++. Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles. Familiarity with REST…
