Job Overview
Academic Software Plus is seeking a motivated Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support business and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in programming, application development, database management, and software troubleshooting.
In this proposed role, the Software Developer will work with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements, develop practical software solutions, improve existing applications, and ensure that systems remain reliable, secure, and easy to maintain.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and application features. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional solutions. Write clean, reusable, efficient, and maintainable code. Develop and maintain web applications, backend services, and application integrations. Work with databases to manage information, write queries, and support application functionality. Troubleshoot software defects and resolve technical issues. Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews. Improve application performance, reliability, usability, and security. Integrate software with APIs, third-party services, and existing business systems. Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards. Collaborate with team members to plan, develop, test, and deliver software improvements. Provide ongoing maintenance and technical support for existing applications as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with software development, programming, or application engineering. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C, Java, Python, JavaScript, or PHP. Understanding of software development life cycles and object-oriented programming principles. Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
