Full Stack Developer — Java, React & Event-Driven Systems
About the role
We’re hiring a Full Stack Developer with hands-on experience building event-driven systems using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Apache Kafka. You’ll own features end to end, from the action a user takes in React to the events that trigger work across services and the status the user sees when that work completes or fails.
Responsibilities
Build responsive React interfaces and the Spring Boot APIs and microservices that support them. Design event-driven workflows. Decide when a user action needs an immediate API response and when downstream work can run asynchronously. Define and evolve event schemas so producers and consumers can be deployed independently. Build Kafka consumers that handle retries and duplicate deliveries safely. Automate multi-step business processes. Make it possible to see which step failed and recover without repeating completed actions. Write unit, integration, and browser-based end-to-end tests. Cover failure scenarios such as a consumer receiving the same event twice or a downstream service becoming unavailable. Deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Use logs, metrics, and tracing to follow a request across services and diagnose failures. Collaborate through Git and code reviews. Use AI development tools for coding, debugging, and test generation, and verify their output before merging.
Required experience Backend: Java, Spring Boot, REST API design, authentication and authorization, SQL, and database transactions Frontend: React with JavaScript or TypeScript, including forms, state management, and API integration Event-driven systems: Hands-on Kafka experience with producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and ordering guarantees. Experience handling duplicate events, retries, and failed messages Workflow automation: Experience coordinating work across services, tracking progress, and recovering from partial failures…
