The Senior Specialist, Software Engineering, Full Stack designs, builds, and operates end-to-end web applications and services that power Zillow’s customer and internal experiences. This role combines deep front-end and back-end expertise to deliver scalable, resilient solutions, mentor other engineers, and drive technical decisions for moderately complex initiatives within a product or platform area.
About the role ------------------
- Architect, develop, and maintain full stack web applications and services, spanning modern front-end frameworks and scalable back-end APIs and data stores. - Lead design and implementation of complex features from concept through deployment, ensuring performance, reliability, security, and maintainability. - Collaborate closely with product, design, data, and adjacent engineering teams to refine requirements, break down work, and deliver high-impact solutions iteratively. - Establish and advocate for engineering best practices in code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD, and incident response, and model these standards in day-to-day work. - Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing, helping elevate overall team capability. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems, using data and diagnostics to improve system health, user experience, and operational efficiency.This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $164,400.00 - $262,600.00 annually.
