What the developer will do ==============================
Develop, maintain, and extend application logic in the Rocket UniVerse environment. Own database-layer work across order management, inventory, purchasing, and reporting modules. Resolve high-priority defects and support escalations originating in the UniVerse data layer. Document data structures, business rules, and integration patterns as knowledge transfer progresses. Partner with .NET developers on end-to-end issue resolution.
Required candidate profile ==============================
Five or more years of professional software development experience. Hands-on experience with Rocket UniVerse, UniData, jBASE, D3, or another PICK/MultiValue database and application environment. Working knowledge of a PICK/MultiValue query language, such as RetrieVe or AQL. MultiValue data modeling, including file structures, dictionaries, and attribute definitions. SQL Server capability, including working with the SQL layer alongside UniVerse. ERP or distribution-system familiarity, particularly order management, inventory, or purchasing workflows.
Preferred experience ========================
Direct Rocket UniVerse experience. VB.NET or C .NET experience, particularly in presentation or application-layer work. Win32 desktop client application experience. Wholesale distribution domain knowledge. Experience migrating PICK/MultiValue data to relational or modern data platforms.
