What “batch 2025/2026” means on a campus listing, how a PPO changes the maths of an internship offer, and what to ask before signing.
Two abbreviations decide more fresher outcomes than any coding round: the batch year and the PPO.
The batch year is the graduation year an employer will consider. “Batch 2026” means students graduating in 2026. If a listing says “2025/2026”, both years are welcome. If your graduation year is not listed, the application usually fails an automated check — better to know that before you fill four pages of a form. On RoleBurst, listings that name a batch keep it in the structured details, so you can filter to the ones that include you.
PPO is a pre-placement offer: an internship that converts into a full-time offer if you perform. It changes the comparison between two offers. A ₹50,000/month internship with a stated PPO of ₹12 LPA is often a better first move than an ₹8 LPA direct offer — but only if the PPO is written down. “High chance of conversion” is not a number.
What is the conversion rate for the last two batches? Is the PPO fixed or subject to a performance band? Does the offer say the stipend is inclusive of any allowance? None of these are rude. A company that answers them clearly is giving you the information the fine print is missing.
